Chocolate Hoodoo Fondue: a saucerer's delight

4 3-ounce bars of sweet cooking chocolate
1/2 cup half and half
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
lemon juice (optional)
fondue pot or chafing dish
fondue forks

In a medium sauce pan, over low heat, melt chocolate with half and half/milk and vanilla. When ready to serve, pour mixture into fondue pot or chafing dish; place over low heat. Makes about 1-1/2 cups fondue sauce, enough dessert for 6 to 8 guests.

foods for dipping:

Cut all foods for fondue dipping into bite-sized chunks. Dip/sprinkle assorted fruit with lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange bite-sized chunks on large platter. Serve with hot fondue sauce.

Let guests dip dates, fruit, marshmallows, cake, etc. into hot chocolate fondue sauce. Fondue should stand up well over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour. If chocolate becomes too thick, stir in 1 or 2 tablespoons of half and half or milk.
