Robert Murch, historian and expert on all things related to Ouija, has compiled his own list of six sensible rules concerning Ouija:

1. Never use alone.
2. Never play in a graveyard.
3. Never burn it.
4. Never leave the planchette on the board.
5. Never ask when you will die.
6. Always say GOODBYE.
I am now going provide you, my dear reader, with my $0.02 as to WHY these are sensible rules:
1. Never use alone. (It won't work as well and won't be as much fun).

2. Never play in a graveyard.(...because it's rude to the mourners at funerals burying their loved ones, or those people leaving flowers.)

3. Never burn it. (The modern boards are made of flame retardant material. They don't burn well. If you need to get rid of it, contact Robert Murch of the Talking Board Society. )

4. Never leave the planchette on the board. (If you leave it out like that, it will somehow get lost or broken. Always put both the board and the plannchette away when you are done.)

5. Never ask when you will die. (...because that's a stupid question since you don't actually want to know the answer.)

6. Always say GOODBYE. (It's only polite.)
