A Path with no Name

A filk based on the 1970's song, "A Horse with no Name," with apologies to the band, America. Sung to the same tune.

I've been the on the "path": on the "path with no name,"
It felt good to be out in the rain.
In the "path" you don't remember a name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

On the first part of the journey,
I was looking at all the life.
There were plants and birds, and rocks and things,
There was dirt and hills and wings.
The first thing I met, was a bee with a buzz,
And the sky, with some clouds.
The sun was hot, and the ground was wet,
But the air was full of sound.

I've been the on the "path": on the "path with no name,"
It felt good to be out in the rain.
In the "path" you don't remember a name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After two days, on the "path with no name,"
I began to fade to bright.
After three days, in silent game,
I was hidden in the light.
And the story of dark, and the silent spark,
Made me glad to think it was night.

You see, I've been the on the "path": on the "path with no name,"
It felt good to be out in the rain.
In the "path" you don't remember a name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After nine days, I let my words run free,
'Cause the air had turned to bees.
There were plants and birds, and rocks and things,
There was dirt and hills and wings.
The bumble bee buzz, like the bumble bee does,
And a perfect flight they make.
Under earth, the heartbeat pounds,
But none will hear the sound break.

I've been the on the "path": on the "path with no name,"
It felt good to be out in the rain.
In the "path" you don't remember a name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.

La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la...

This humorous filk was inspired by folks who described their religious or spiritual path as "My path has no name."
